GORDON STRACHAN – WE HAVE TO WIN
By Trialist
Gordon Strachan has admitted that Sunday's Celtic versus the Huns League match at Celtic Park is a ‘must-win' for the Hoops if we are to have any hope of winning the SPL Championship. Of course, describing this Glasgow derby as a ‘must win' is a bit of an understatement, akin to describing Alba's current fuel crisis as a bit of a nuisance.
Celtic are currently top of the League, leading the Huns by two points, though TFOD has three games in hand.
However, a Celtic win on Sunday would propel the Hoops five points clear, with Celtic then having three League games remaining, while the Huns will have six, though four of those are away from the Death Star amidst a congested fixture list of the Huns' own making.
Nevertheless, Celtic MUST beat the Evil Empire on Sunday to increase the pressure on TFOD after we humped the Huns 2-1 at Celtic Park nine days ago.
Gordon Strachan said: I would say we have to win again. It would make it interesting for everybody.”
Gordon Strachan continued: “I'm not going to say that about Rangers, because they are doing terrifically well at the moment. We must compliment them on their season so far. We have just got to play and if we win it's great, that makes us happy. What it does to other people, I really have no idea.”
Gordon Strachan added: “What we have to do is to win to make ourselves happy and our fans happy.”
The Celtic Manager also commented on the fixture farce that is the SPL officially sanctioning the Huns' cheating by extending the League season if “Scotland's Shame” overcomes Fiorentina to reach the UEFA Cup Final.
However, Gordon Strachan did not condemn the possible League extension as Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell has done so vehemently.
Gordon Strachan said: “I'm just the Manager. The Club have made a statement and I'll just get on with it. I did that as a player and do it as a Manager.”
Gordon Strachan added: “I'll be sending the bill for my holiday flights to the SPL.”
