CELTIC SHORTS – AIDEN SWOOP SHOCKER AND MICK'S MIRACLE
By Trialist
According to that bastion of accuracy, honesty, impartiality and truth, the Daily Mirror, Sunderland are “ready to splash the cash” for Celtic's Aiden McGeady.
There wouldn't be a title race on, would there?
The Huns and the Laptop Loyalists wouldn't be feeling the pressure, would they?
The Mirror's flyer reads:
“ROY FIGHT FOR CELT McGEADY
Roy Keane is ready to splash the cash and make Ireland wing-wizard Aiden McGeady a Sunderland player next season.
The Black Cats boss is due to hold contract talks with chairman Niall Quinn in the coming weeks.
But before extending his deal Keane is demanding a considerable war-chest with which to lure high-class players to the Stadium of Light.
And having steered Sunderland to top flight safety, the club's owners are willing to dig deep and grant Keane his wish.
Keane could have between £60m and £80m to spend and he is ready to throw £12m at Celtic in a bid to prize McGeady from their grasp.
The Scottish Player-of-the-Year is in no rush to quit Parkhead but has made no secret of his desire to one-day try his hand in the Premiership.”
The Mirror then links Aiden-inho with Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Stephen McManus, who was according to some in the Laptop Loyal certain to miss the remainder of Celtic's campaign because of a calf muscle injury, has revealed the “season is not over” for him yet.
On Sunday, Mick limped out of Celtic's 3-2 humping of the Huns in the 66th minute with a calf muscle injury, Darren O'Dea the Celtic Captain's more than capable replacement.
Subsequent speculation from the Laptop Loyal doubted Mick would add to his 51 appearances for the Hoops this season.
However, following a scan, which reportedly reveals a strain and not a tear of his calf muscle, the 25-year old Celtic defender insists he does not want to miss any of Celtic's three remaining League games.
Stephen McManus said yesterday: “The season is not done for me yet, that's for sure.”
Stephen continued: “I need to take things day by day. There are three games to go and I don't want to miss any of them. All I can do is see how it goes in the next few days.”
Stephen added: “It was just a bang on the calf and it's more of a strain really.”
