SHUNSUKE NAKAMURA DELIVERS MORE GOOD NEWS FOR TIMDOM
By Trialist
After the Huns dropped two points at Easter Road this afternoon in a goal-less draw with Hibs, there is further good news for Timdom as Shunsuke Nakamura has revealed he will be remaining a Bhoy for at least another year.
The Japanese genius has announced that Celtic have activated the one-year extension to his contract and Shunsuke Nakamura is delighted that he will be at Celtic Park until at least the summer of 2009.
Shunsuke Nakamura said: “You can never really know what the future holds for you in football from year to year, so I was delighted when Celtic said they wanted me again.”
Naka explained: “I didn't know what to expect because I've had injuries this year and haven't had the chance to show my best form, so it's good to be wanted.”
Naka continued: “I want to be here too. I have always said that if I am playing for a Manager who can develop me as a player and in an environment where I can improve then I'll be happy.”
Naka added: “I enjoy life in Scotland and life at Celtic under Gordon Strachan. I made a choice to come here three years ago and it proved to be the right one.”
29-year old Shunsuke Nakamura has made no secret of his desire to return to his homeland and his first club Yokohama Marinos in the later stages of his illustrious career.
But for the foreseeable future Shunsuke Nakamura, who joined Celtic from Italian club Reggina in the summer of 2005, will continue to grace our cherished Hoops.
Shunsuke Nakamura said: “I had offers to play in Spain but I chose Celtic because that was the Club that played Champions League football. That's the level I want to keep playing at.”
