Carlton Cole, who was capped by England at Under-21 level, scored 4 goals in 25 appearances for Chelsea and has scored 6 goals in 45 appearances for West Ham, so prolific is not the appropriate adjective.
Needless to say, Celtic have also been linked with Republic of Ireland international right-back Stephen Carr, now that the 31-year old former Spurs defender has been released by Newcastle United.
