James "Dun" Hay 1881 -1940 The Story Of A Footballer

Written by Roy Hay

Available from Amazon £9.99

This is a charming biography of one of the greatest players in Celtic's history - James Hay, captain of the great Edwardian Celtic side that won six championships in a row.

This book, written by his grandson Roy Hay, who currently resides in Australia, is a great addition to anyone's library. The great Celtic years are well described, are indeed the Newcastle years and his appearances for Scotland, with some fine photographs.

The statistics are also well done and lovingly presented by a man who quite clearly has every reason to be proud of his grandfather. But his grandfather would be equally proud of him, one feels, especially in the detailed account of Jimmy's probity and integrity in revealing a nasty piece of dirty business when he was Ayr United's Manager.

This book is well worth buying at the UK price of £9.95, and is a worthy description of a worthy subject.
